An extract from the Deputy
Governor's Office
6th November 1995
From Peter Willis, Deputy Governor, regarding the reasons for my transfer
from Narcotics to Operations (uniform) as of 28th August 1990:
Telephone (809) 292-2587
telex
3202 DEPGV
BA
Fax
(809) 295 3832
Ref: DGO 382/3
The reasons given were and I quote, "general non
conformist attitude and the incident on 26th August 1990, when he attempted to
tape an interview between himself and Detective Chief Inspector Ramsey".
At the time of the interview, no decision had been taken not to
renew your contract. The Commissioner had informed you however that he would not
recommend that you be offered another contract. Clearly the decision of the
Commissioner of the day would have weighed heavily against renewal if it had come to that.
I was constructively dismissed.
